Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest Far Cry game that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for delighting in action and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, socially charged narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two creators whose work have exemplified all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game property, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' style by having a fresh setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners constantly supports me with their steady confidence and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the core of society through this intricate and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our common bold, daring approach to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
