Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The plane touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has encountered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
