Large-scale Russian Strikes Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.
