Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold on a multi-year agreement

Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is advancing according to plan, giving a chance that the Real Madrid defender could return soon enough to play against his old team Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player experienced a hamstring injury while playing against French club Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the pitch in the fifth minute, with early indications pointing to a possible layoff of as long as a month and a half.

Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—exactly seven weeks after the incident occurred.

Insiders close to the situation state that the player's recovery is advancing well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his first return to Anfield since joining Los Blancos in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old academy player was the "toughest decision he has ever made."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, contributing to secure two Premier League championships, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.

After his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured five times in all competitions, totaling over two and a half hours of action.
