Toy Story 5 Trailer Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 years since the first Toy Story film debuted, launching Pixar as a leading film company and bringing viewers to beloved figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, offering a brief look into the storyline but keeping viewers curious how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before setting off for his new life was hand over his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the insignia pinned to her outfit.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the group.
Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
